Back to Office

15 September, 2020

This past year, we’ve all encountered challenges, may they’ve been small or of a larger scale. Your wardrobe may not have been the top priority, but in fact for a lot of our customer, it has given them the opportunity to shift their clothing priorities, towards and more sustainable, thought through wardrobe. We take pride in helping you with this process.

Fall is a wonderful time to get dressed. It provides the possibility to carry multiple layers, soft qualities and textured fabrics. Whether you are more formal or casual in your style, autumn leaves room for inspiration and creativity. As always, our duty is to inspire you and your creativity when dressing for different occasions, work being one the most important.

Regardless of your situation, dressing and feeling well are closely associated, so make sure to leave your ‘video meeting gym shorts’ in the closet and see this autumn as a fresh start, regardless of whether you work from home or the office.

Autumn is a wonderful time to get dressed. It provides the possibility to carry multiple layers, soft qualities and textured fabrics. Whether you are more formal or casual in your style, autumn leaves room for inspiration and creativity. Our call is to take advantage of this, be inspired and be creative when dressing for work. In a year where we have encountered many challenges globally, it may be more important than ever. Therefore, make sure to leave your gym shorts in the closet and see this autumn as a fresh start, regardless of whether you work from home or the office.

Here we will present three different business styles; casual, smart casual and formal.

Casual

Many workplaces are becoming more and more informal when it comes to dress codes. However, dressing casually does not have to mean that you are not professional. With a crisp white shirt and a pair of well-fitting trousers, you give both a relaxed and professional impression.

A pair of well-fitting jeans is a key piece in everyone’s wardrobe. For maximum comfort, choose these washed denims with some stretch. This darker wash is perfect for autumn but can of course be worn all year round. The denim fabric is woven by the Italian mill Candiani.

The jeans are combined with a white oxford chambray shirt. The shirt’s matte expression enhances the relaxed feeling and fits well with the jeans.

Few garments are as associated with autumn as flannel in general and flannel trousers in particular. These beige flannel trousers fits just as well with the white shirt as with your favorite jacket. Choose a higher waist for a classic and comfortable look.

A shirt with structure is well combined with the brushed surface of the trousers. Our choice is a white royal oxford shirt which is another key piece in the wardrobe.

Another key piece in the casual wardrobe is the chinos trousers. They’re easy to combine and has an obvious place in our wardrobe. In addition, the chinos have an interesting story that you can read about here.

We combine the chinos trousers with another Blugiallo classic – off white pique. The soft pique fabric creates a shirt that is incredibly comfortable to wear. Choose to either do it with full buttoning like a classic shirt, or with pop-over buttoning for a sportier look.

Smart casual

The term smart casual is difficult to define. It often describes a clothing style that balances between a formal and a casual attire. What this means is, of course, personal and ultimately determines the wearer’s personal interpretation. For the autumn and return to the office, we present our interpretation of smart casual.

A fabric that fits perfectly in the balance between casual and formal is hopsack. Thanks to its structure it can be worn in most situations, both as a suit and jacket.

The structured jacket is combined with a pair of light beige cotton trousers. They are made of a heavier twill fabric, which contributes to optimal trousers when the temperature drops a few degrees. A crisp white shirt in royal oxford fabric completes your outfit.

This smart casual outfit symbolizes contemporary luxury like few others. The beige jacket in a wool and cashmere blend is one of our absolute favorites. Rarely has elegance and comfort been so well balanced. Under the jacket, we recommend a light grey roll neck in 100% recycled cashmere. Choosing knitted garments instead of a shirt is a way to reduce formality, without becoming too casual. The trousers are made of “Heavy twill cotton”. The thickness and structured surface creates an incredible trouser for the cooler months of the year.

It is impossible to talk about smart casual without including a blue jacket combined with beige cotton trousers. This jacket is made of a “high twist wool” fabric, also called Fresco. A Fresco jacket is comfortable to wear and has a matte surface that makes it easy to combine with other garments.

A pair of beige cotton trousers are a key piece in the wardrobe. These trousers are made in a slightly thicker cotton quality and are excellent for autumn, winter and early spring. It works just as well for the jacket in the office as for a knitted sweater on the Sunday stroll.

Formal

Although more and more workplaces are moving towards a less formal style, there are few things that are as elegant as a well-fitting suit. Whether you are on your way to the board meeting or your first day at the new job, you will express professionalism with a tailored suit. Here we show two of our favorites.

Classic business suits are often blue or grey. This does not mean that your grey suit needs to blend in among others. This suit is made in a “Worsted wool” quality that creates a nice drape. The fabric’s herringbone structure gives the suit an elegant luster. Despite the fact that it is a single color, it becomes a unique garment in the wardrobe. Peak lapels and jet pocket increases the formality. A white twill shirt is the obvious choice for this suit. Together with a brown grenadine tie, the look is completed.

Few fabrics are associated with the business suit in the same way as the chalk stripe. The chalk-striped suit brings to mind London and New York’s financial districts. The fabric itself is formal and here we choose to emphasize it by making the suit double-breasted with wide lapels. Iron your white shirt, tie the tie and polish your black oxford shoes. Then you will have an unbeatable business outfit.
